A Winter Morning in Paris

We met just before 8:00 AM in the peaceful courtyard of the Louvre. November mornings in Paris are cold, with temperatures barely reaching 3°C (37°F). The trees had almost lost their last autumn leaves, the sky was softly grey, and the city was still waking up. As a Paris photographer, these quiet moments are some of my favourites. The streets are almost empty, the light is beautifully soft, and the atmosphere feels calm and intimate—perfect for a romantic Paris photoshoot. Standing there, waiting for my couple, I wondered whether the cold would affect the session.

Then Merve appeared. Wearing an elegant white bridal dress, she walked gracefully across the Louvre courtyard, followed by Kemal just a few moments later. Suddenly, the cold disappeared. The city seemed brighter, and my only focus became capturing every smile, every glance and every emotion shared between two people who had just promised each other forever.

A Last-Minute Family Photoshoot in Paris

A few days before their trip, Rime contacted me looking for a last-minute family photoshoot in Paris. She didn't tell me much over the phone. I simply knew she wanted to create beautiful family memories during her parents' visit. At first, she suggested Montmartre, one of the most iconic neighbourhoods in Paris. Instead, I recommended the Jardin des Tuileries. With its elegant fountains, tree-lined paths, Parisian green chairs, sculptures and breathtaking views stretching from the Louvre to Place de la Concorde, it's one of my favourite locations for family photography in Paris. It offers plenty of beautiful backdrops while remaining peaceful and easy to explore at a relaxed pace. She immediately loved the idea.

Meeting Three Beautiful Souls

We met early in the morning at the Concorde entrance of the gardens. After introducing herself, Rime walked me towards an elderly couple waiting quietly near one of the fountains. "They're my parents," she smiled. It immediately became clear that this photo session wasn't simply another family portrait. It was a gift. A gift of memories. A gift of time spent together. A gift that would remain long after their visit to Paris.

We met early in the morning at the entrance of the Jardin des Tuileries, next to Place de la Concorde, one of my favourite locations for a relaxed family photo session in Paris. I recognised Ana immediately. We had met a few years earlier during another photoshoot, but this time something had changed. She looked radiant. Happy. Full of energy. And then I noticed her beautiful baby bump. Ana was six months pregnant—and expecting twins.

Instantly, this family session became even more special. It wasn't just about capturing a family holiday. It was about celebrating a growing family and a beautiful new chapter that was about to begin.

Waiting beside her were her sister Sylvia, visiting from London with her two children, Clarissa and Daniel, and of course the family's adorable dog, Frère Jacques, who was determined to be part of every photograph.

My alarm had already rung several times. Like many people, I pressed the snooze button more than once, trying to convince myself that five more minutes would somehow make waking up easier. Eventually, reality won. A hot shower. A warm coat. A quick breakfast.

They belonged in black and white. Without colour, every image became stronger. More elegant. More emotional. Everything seemed perfectly under control... until the Paris Metro decided otherwise. A delayed train quickly turned into an unexpected sprint through the streets of Paris. Despite leaving with plenty of time, I arrived a few minutes late—something I almost never allow to happen. I immediately apologised, hoping my clients hadn't been waiting too long. Fortunately, Amanda and Andrew greeted me with warm smiles.
