A YOGA PHOTOSHOOT AT GALERIE VIVIENNE WITh FREYA : WHERE WELLNESS MEETS PARISIAN ELEGANCE

Paris has an extraordinary ability to inspire creativity. Its elegant architecture, hidden passages, historic cafés and timeless atmosphere make it the perfect backdrop not only for couples and families, but also for personal branding, editorial photography and lifestyle photoshoots.
When Freya travelled to Paris to represent the Canadian activewear brand Tonic Active, she wanted more than a traditional fashion shoot. She was looking for a location that reflected both the elegance of Paris and the calm, mindful spirit of yoga. The perfect place? Galerie Vivienne, one of the most beautiful covered passages in Paris.

A Creative Collaboration in the Heart of Paris

Freya is far more than a yoga model. She is the editor of Nourrir Magazine, a multimedia lifestyle publication whose name means "to nourish." Passionate about wellness, travel, fashion and creativity, she embodies a modern lifestyle that perfectly matched the vision of this editorial branding photoshoot in Paris. Her mission during this trip was to represent Tonic Active, a Canadian brand specialising in premium yoga and activewear, while creating a collection of authentic lifestyle images in one of the city's most iconic hidden gems. As a Paris lifestyle photographer, these creative collaborations are always exciting because every project tells a completely different story.

Why Galerie Vivienne Is One of Paris' Best Hidden Photography Locations

Most visitors dream of photographing the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre. But Paris is also famous for its elegant covered passages, built during the nineteenth century and filled with incredible architectural details. Among them, Galerie Vivienne remains one of my absolute favourites.
With its mosaic floors, glass roof, boutique shops and beautiful natural light, it offers a timeless atmosphere that's perfect for portrait photography, branding sessions, fashion photography and editorial shoots. It's also one of the locations I often recommend during winter or rainy days, when outdoor photography becomes more challenging. Beautiful photographs don't always require sunshine. Sometimes the perfect location is hidden indoors.

Beginning Our Photoshoot at Bistro Vivienne

We started the session inside the charming Bistro Vivienne, tucked away within the gallery. The warm interior, vintage furniture and intimate atmosphere immediately created the feeling of an old Parisian film. Although the light was relatively low, it added depth and character to the portraits. Freya first wore a casual outfit before changing into her yoga clothing, allowing us to create two completely different visual stories within the same location. This is something I always encourage during personal branding photography. Changing outfits creates more variety and gives clients a gallery that can be used across websites, magazines and social media.

Yoga in One of Paris' Most Elegant Passages

Once inside the gallery, we found a long corridor where soft natural light filtered beautifully through the glass ceiling. It was the perfect place to begin photographing movement. Despite the cold winter temperatures outside, Freya moved effortlessly from one yoga posture to another. Standing. Balancing. Stretching. Flowing. Sometimes laughing after losing her balance. Then trying again. Watching her work reminded me that photography and yoga have something in common. Neither is about perfection. Both are about presence. About movement. About connecting with the present moment. Those spontaneous moments often become the strongest photographs.

More Than a Fashion Photoshoot

What I particularly enjoyed about this session was its versatility. It wasn't simply a fashion campaign. It wasn't only a yoga photoshoot. It also became a personal branding session, reflecting Freya's personality, her profession and the values she wanted to communicate through her images.
As a branding photographer in Paris, I believe the most successful photographs are those that tell a story rather than simply showcase a product. People connect with authenticity. Not perfection.

Finishing the Session Outdoors

After spending nearly an hour inside Galerie Vivienne, we stepped outside for a final series of portraits. The Parisian streets were filled with beautiful winter light, adding another atmosphere to the collection. Combining indoor elegance with outdoor portraits gave Freya a diverse gallery she could use for her magazine, professional projects and social media. To finish the morning, we sat down for a coffee together. Like many of my sessions, the conversation naturally moved beyond photography. We talked about yoga. Travelling. Creativity. Entrepreneurship. Those conversations are often my favourite part of the experience. Because every photoshoot introduces me to someone new, with a different story and a different perspective on life.

A FUN AND ROMANTIC COUPLE PHOTOSHOOT AT THE EIFFEL TOWER WITH AMANDA & ANDREW

Some mornings don't begin exactly as planned. The alarm rings, the weather isn't particularly inspiring and the temptation to stay under a warm blanket is stronger than usual. As a photographer, there are days when motivation comes easily—and others when it takes a little more effort to leave home. That morning was one of those. Fortunately, unlike my usual sunrise sessions, this photoshoot wasn't scheduled until 11:00 AM. I enjoyed a slower morning before making my way across Paris to meet Amanda and Andrew for their couple photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower.

Everything seemed perfectly under control... until the Paris Metro decided otherwise. A delayed train quickly turned into an unexpected sprint through the streets of Paris. Despite leaving with plenty of time, I arrived a few minutes late—something I almost never allow to happen. I immediately apologised, hoping my clients hadn't been waiting too long. Fortunately, Amanda and Andrew greeted me with warm smiles.
That set the tone for the rest of the morning.

A Dream Trip to Paris

Amanda and Andrew had travelled from the United States to spend a few unforgettable days in Paris. Like many visitors, seeing the Eiffel Tower had been on their travel bucket list for years. Standing in front of one of the world's most iconic landmarks was already a special moment—but they also wanted to return home with professional photographs that would remind them of this adventure together. Moments like these always make me stop for a second. Living in Paris, it's easy to forget how extraordinary this city feels to people visiting for the first time.
For many travellers, seeing the Eiffel Tower is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As a Paris photographer, I never take that privilege for granted.

"We Don't Want Typical Tourist Photos"

Before we even picked up the camera, Amanda laughed and said something that immediately made me smile. "We don't want the typical poses everyone does." Instead of perfectly posed portraits, they wanted something that reflected who they really were. Fun. Playful. Spontaneous.
Authentic. Exactly the kind of photography I love creating. Every couple has a different personality, and my goal is never to make people fit
into the same poses. Instead, I adapt every Paris photoshoot to the people standing in front of my camera.

Laughter, Movement and Genuine Emotion

From the very beginning, Amanda and Andrew were incredibly comfortable together. There was no awkwardness. No hesitation.
No need to overthink anything. Amanda jumped onto Andrew's back without warning. They laughed constantly. They hugged. They danced.
They whispered to each other. They forgot I was even there. Watching them together, it was difficult to believe they had already been
a couple for more than ten years. Their connection felt as fresh and genuine as if they had only recently fallen in love. Those are the moments every photographer hopes for. Not perfect poses. Real emotions. Because the strongest photographs are rarely the most carefully staged. They're the ones that capture genuine relationships.

Beyond the Eiffel Tower

After exploring the gardens around the Eiffel Tower, we slowly made our way towards the banks of the Seine River. The atmosphere changed completely. The excitement of the first part of the session gave way to something quieter. More intimate. We walked hand in hand along the river, stopping whenever the light became particularly beautiful. The elegant bridges, the soft reflections on the water and the peaceful atmosphere created the perfect setting for the final part of their couple photoshoot in Paris. Sometimes my favourite photographs are made at the very end of a session, when everyone has completely forgotten about the camera.

Why Every Couple Deserves a Paris Photoshoot

Travelling together creates memories. But professional photographs allow you to relive those memories for decades. A couple photoshoot in Paris isn't about looking like models. It's about celebrating your relationship, your journey and the experiences you've shared together.
Whether you're visiting Paris for the first time, celebrating an anniversary, enjoying your honeymoon or simply creating memories during your travels, professional photographs become one of the most meaningful souvenirs you can bring home.

Another Beautiful Paris Story

As I packed away my camera, I smiled to myself. Another story. Another couple. Another unforgettable morning in Paris. I quickly headed towards my next photoshoot at the beautiful Bir-Hakeim Bridge, grateful once again that this city constantly introduces me to people from all over the world. Every session is different. Every love story is unique. And that's exactly what keeps me inspired after all these years.
