FAMILY PHOTO SHOOT AT JARDIN DES TUILERIES : A PRECIOUS GIFT

Some photo sessions stay with you forever. Not because of the weather, the location or the photographs themselves, but because of the people you meet and the stories they choose to share. As a family photographer in Paris, I've had the privilege of photographing hundreds of families from all over the world. Every session is unique, but every now and then, one reminds me why I chose this profession in the first place. This was one of those unforgettable moments.

A Last-Minute Family Photoshoot in Paris

A few days before their trip, Rime contacted me looking for a last-minute family photoshoot in Paris. She didn't tell me much over the phone. I simply knew she wanted to create beautiful family memories during her parents' visit. At first, she suggested Montmartre, one of the most iconic neighbourhoods in Paris. Instead, I recommended the Jardin des Tuileries. With its elegant fountains, tree-lined paths, Parisian green chairs, sculptures and breathtaking views stretching from the Louvre to Place de la Concorde, it's one of my favourite locations for family photography in Paris. It offers plenty of beautiful backdrops while remaining peaceful and easy to explore at a relaxed pace. She immediately loved the idea.

Meeting Three Beautiful Souls

We met early in the morning at the Concorde entrance of the gardens. After introducing herself, Rime walked me towards an elderly couple waiting quietly near one of the fountains. "They're my parents," she smiled. It immediately became clear that this photo session wasn't simply another family portrait. It was a gift. A gift of memories. A gift of time spent together. A gift that would remain long after their visit to Paris.
Although her parents didn't speak either French or English, communication became surprisingly easy. Smiles.Gestures. Laughter.
Photography often becomes its own language.

Creating Beautiful Memories at Their Own Pace

Unlike younger couples or families travelling with children, we weren't rushing from one location to another. We walked slowly through the gardens, enjoying the colourful autumn leaves, elegant fountains and magnificent Parisian scenery. Every bench became a portrait.
Every tree became a backdrop. Every smile became another memory. Because Rime's parents became tired quite quickly, we stayed close to the main terrace. Fortunately, the Jardin des Tuileries offers endless opportunities for beautiful family portraits without having to walk long distances.
Sometimes the simplest moments create the most meaningful photographs.

More Than a Family Photoshoot

After our session, we stopped for a coffee just outside the gardens. For the first time, it was just the two of us. That's when Rime shared the reason behind this experience. Her parents had travelled a long way to visit her after many years apart. As they were getting older, she didn't know when they would have the opportunity to spend time together again. She wanted to give them something that would last forever. Not a souvenir from Paris.
Not a luxury gift. But photographs filled with smiles, laughter and love. Listening to her story gave me goosebumps. It reminded me how powerful photography can be. We often think photographs preserve faces. In reality, they preserve relationships.

Why Family Photography Matters

Family photographs become more valuable with every passing year. Children grow up. Parents grow older. Grandparents become cherished memories. A professional family photoshoot in Paris isn't only about beautiful portraits in front of famous landmarks. It's about celebrating the people we love while we still have the chance to create new memories together. Whether you're visiting Paris with young children, grandparents or several generations of your family, investing in professional family photography means preserving moments that become priceless over time.

A Review I'll Never Forget

After receiving their gallery, Rime wrote something that deeply moved me. "I managed to make them laugh again, and that's all that mattered to me. Thank you, Paulette, for your kindness, generosity and for creating these beautiful memories for my family."
Those words reminded me that photography isn't simply about taking beautiful pictures. Sometimes it's about giving people a reason to smile.

Planning a Family Photoshoot in Paris?

Whether you're celebrating a family reunion, travelling with grandparents, welcoming a new generation or simply wanting to remember your time together in Paris, I'd love to help you create photographs that tell your family's story. Together, we'll choose the perfect location, move at a comfortable pace and create authentic memories in some of the most beautiful places in Paris, including the Jardin des Tuileries, the Eiffel Tower, the Luxembourg Gardens, Palais Royal and many hidden Parisian locations. Because the most beautiful photographs are rarely the ones that are perfectly posed. They're the ones that remind us who we love.

A FAMILY PHOTO SHOOT AT JARDIN DES TUILERIES WITH ANA , SILVIA AND FAMILY

Family photographs become more meaningful with every passing year. Children grow up. Families expand. New chapters begin. Moments that once felt ordinary slowly become priceless memories.

That's exactly why Ana decided to organise a family photoshoot in Paris while her sister Sylvia and her children were visiting from London. It wasn't simply another activity during their holiday—it was an opportunity to celebrate being together, preserve a special moment in their lives and create photographs they would treasure for years to come.

As a family photographer in Paris, these are the stories I love telling through my camera.

A Family Reunion in the Heart of Paris

We met early in the morning at the entrance of the Jardin des Tuileries, next to Place de la Concorde, one of my favourite locations for a relaxed family photo session in Paris. I recognised Ana immediately. We had met a few years earlier during another photoshoot, but this time something had changed. She looked radiant. Happy. Full of energy. And then I noticed her beautiful baby bump. Ana was six months pregnant—and expecting twins.

Instantly, this family session became even more special. It wasn't just about capturing a family holiday. It was about celebrating a growing family and a beautiful new chapter that was about to begin.

Waiting beside her were her sister Sylvia, visiting from London with her two children, Clarissa and Daniel, and of course the family's adorable dog, Frère Jacques, who was determined to be part of every photograph.

The Perfect Morning for Family Photography

After several days of grey skies and rain, Paris gave us an unexpected gift. The sky was bright blue. The winter sun filled the gardens with soft golden light. The air was crisp but pleasant—perfect weather for a family photoshoot. Sometimes photographers spend an entire week hoping for conditions like these. That morning, everything felt just right.

Why Jardin des Tuileries Is Perfect for Families

I often recommend the Jardin des Tuileries to families visiting Paris. Unlike busier tourist locations, the gardens offer plenty of space for children to move naturally while providing elegant Parisian scenery in every direction. Historic fountains. Beautiful sculptures. Tree-lined paths.
Green Parisian chairs. Views towards the Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Every corner becomes a beautiful backdrop for authentic family portraits. Since dogs aren't allowed in every area of the gardens, we explored the surrounding terraces and quieter paths, allowing Frère Jacques to join the adventure while creating a wonderful variety of photographs.

A Morning Filled with Laughter

One of the things I loved most about this session wasn't the beautiful light or the location. It was the connection between everyone.
Ana and Sylvia shared the effortless bond that only sisters have. Clarissa and Daniel filled the morning with curiosity and laughter. Frère Jacques happily stole the spotlight whenever he had the chance. Our conversations naturally switched from one language to another. I spoke French with Ana. English with Sylvia and the children. The sisters chatted together in Portuguese. Even Frère Jacques received instructions in several languages. It created a joyful atmosphere that made everyone relax almost immediately. That's the secret to natural family photography. The best photographs happen when people stop thinking about the camera and simply enjoy being together.

Celebrating New Beginnings

Knowing that Ana was expecting twins gave this session an even deeper meaning. Every photograph became more than a family portrait.
It became a memory of life before everything changed. Soon the family would welcome two new little members. The children would become
older cousins. The sisters would begin another beautiful chapter together. Photography has a unique ability to preserve these moments—the quiet pauses between one stage of life and the next. Years later, these images won't simply remind them what they looked like. They'll remind them exactly how they felt.

More Than Beautiful Pictures

People often ask me what makes a successful family photoshoot in Paris. It's never about perfect smiles or perfect poses. It's about creating an experience where everyone feels comfortable enough to be themselves. We walked. We laughed. We stopped whenever the children became curious about something. We adjusted naturally to Frère Jacques' enthusiasm. Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt forced. The result was a gallery of genuine smiles, spontaneous moments and authentic family memories. Exactly what family photography should be.

The Best Souvenir from Paris

At the end of the session, I sent Ana a small preview of their photographs. A few minutes later, I received a message that made me smile.
"We absolutely loved them!" Sometimes those four words are the greatest compliment a photographer can receive.
Because photography isn't simply about creating beautiful images. It's about giving people something they'll still treasure twenty years from now.
A family holiday eventually ends. Children grow up. New babies arrive. Life continues moving forward.
But photographs allow us to return to those moments whenever we need them.
